BGW 7000 Replacement Transistors

I have a BGW 7000 Pro Line Amplifier and I am looking for a new set of transistors because when I power on my amp it powers up for 2 seconds and makes a humming noise inside, then pops the circuit breaker on the back. I took it to a repair shop and they said it needed a new set of trannies but wanted $500 to change them.

It has 16 of the RCA # 6803394 and 4 of the RCA # 67570 and I need to find replacement trannies. 16 of them are big and 4 are small if that helps any further.

I can't seem to find anything on the RCA trannies anywhere. I found someone posting somewhere that the MJ15025 and MJ15024 trannies are a good replacement but want to find out which one is which because I can't tell which is bigger in size by looking at pics online. I'm looking for the cheapest and easiest solution to this problem so any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

diy this and will cost cheaper .... but you will not get away with this only you need to check other things also ....obvioulsy capacitors inside are way too old and need to be replaced

Then again only some amatures replace transistors before find out if are broken or not ...if outputs are shorted broken then you need to replace them .... there is other things that might fail also before transistors do ....

as about which one is which simply a NPN transitors gets supply from the postive side while the PNP will do the oposite ( Assuming that collector of the transistor is conected to the power supply cause it also might be working in an other way )

just replace transitors with out checking all the rest ( bias also ) and this will be trwice as costy ....

Going thru my many piles o'crap last night I found some BGW 7000B paperwork. The 8 pages contain circuit description, schematics, and parts list. If anyone is interested PM me with your email address and I'll get it scanned and sent.

Anyone have a copy of the user manual and/or schematics for the BGW 7000B Proline ?
I have been searching the web and have found nothing. I recently acquired one on trade with a Shure 2 channel preamp and a impedence multi-tap transformer hooked-up to one of the two Banna/ Bayonet connections. Looks like he was running it 1 channel with the other unterminated. Is this ok for the output transistors.

Yes. The two channels are independent. Use one or both, up to you.
