Typical MOSFET's for true complementary output stages are obsolete in any cases after few years. Good known examples are the Hitachi's 2SK135/2SJ50 and a currently example Toshiba's 2SK1529/2SJ200 - go to
FYI: Toshiba 2SK1529/2SJ200 reached EOL. Independend of this - such true complementary MOSFET devices more suited for "Would-be" developers than real audio engineers (at least in this days). Perhaps this could be the reason for the short time of availability of such pairs of MOSFET's. Therefore it is for me of interest to work with commercial brands audio components without the use of so called "true complementary" output stages, especially by MOSFETs to avoid later by service the complicated search of "Hard to Find" types and to avoid unwanted and complicated mods and tweaks for the use of good available power devices. about Only N-Channel MOSFETs (NMOS); better Audio from non complements by Audio Power? I have listed an URL overview arround various topologies concerning such followers. but it seems to be very hard to find commercial brands uses such followers. Here my small overview: 1) Creek (e. g. 5350) http://www.ant-audio.co.uk/Theory/N-...0linearity.pdf N-channel only output devices in a power follower. 2) Zeus Power Amplifier (transformer based) Zero Feedback Transformer Audio Power Amplifier Zero Feedback Impedance Amplifiers 3) NAD , eg 306 (who knows currently available successor model No?) http://195.84.101.101/~goranl/projec...eo/NAD_306.pdf Only N-Channel MOSFETs (NMOS); better Audio from non complements by Audio Power? (PDF attachement post #1) 4) QSC power light 6.2 Only N-Channel MOSFETs (NMOS); better Audio from non complements by Audio Power? ( post #14-#16) http://www.qscaudio.com/support/libr...s/PL9.0PFC.pdf 5) www_aussieamplifiers_com based on Olsson "Only N-Channel", transistor phase splitting driver stage Original article: Better Audio from non complements? from Bengt Olsson (B. Olson?) Electronics World + Wireless World, December 1994 page 988 http://www.amplimos.it/images/N-CH1.JPG 6) Krohn Hite 7500 http://pws.prserv.net/demian/Krohn-H...-Hite-7500.pdf Very few brands. Who will help me to expand this list of brands? Last edited by tiefbassuebertr; 11th May 2011 at 10:37 AM. |
