Default Sony TA-F35 help

Hello I am new to the forum so i asked myself if you could help me...I have a sony TA-f35 integrated amplifier.....my uncle gave it to me to repair it and that it is a test of me as a electrician(I`m i school still...) so an older engineer told me to replace the output transistors and a couple of other components so the problem is the amp is powered up and the fuses are not blown but there is no sound so if anybody could tell me what and where to look...thank you(sorry if I put it in the wrong forum)

Check the output protection relay - does it click on power on? If not, that is a problem, either the protection circuit is faulty, or it's in protect mode. Its also worth checking the relay's contacts as they will be tarnished over the years.

For a unit this old you will also want to replace every electrolytic capacitor.

You are looking at hundred or so parts... anything could be the problem. There is no sense in trying to fix it by randomly poking around. You need a schematic (look at HiFi Engine | Download Free User/ Service Manuals, Amplifier, Receiver, CD, Tape, Tuner, Video) and at least a multimeter to find out what is wrong. Only then can you get it right. A random exchange of parts ending in a working amplifier is like lottery - luck, not knowledge.

Could be anything from dirty switches and pots to bad capacitors used for signal coupling. It could even still be tarnished relay contacts. If you really want to repair an amp this old, you need a schematic and to be prepared to give it a good overhaul - cleaning, replacing aged parts, etc...

Who said I poked around randomly?I am not a fool to go check 300 components randomly one by one and I already measured the voltages with the schematics and now it works all I had to do was to clean it up a lot.....
