Hey got a question if somehting is screwed up in my amp. I've read on the board here that people get good results from bumping up the bias on, Acurus, Aragon(I think thats the correct name) amps. people said to measurre the voltage across the emitter resisters. well on both sides were way off the factory setting of 6mv. I measured 2mv. they were .33 ohm 2watt resistors. So i kept turning the pots up until I got to 6mv. The right side of the amp I measured. -5.9 -6.1 +6.1 +5.9mv the left side where the IEC and the Bridge rectifier are on i was reading -4.8 -5.7 -5.2 +6.1mv. The 3 negatives or positives whichever way my meter was hooked up through me for a loop. The rightside with 2neg 2+ made sense. So is there something wrong somewhere on the left. I was reading a thread with somone with a Aragon 8004 or 8002 which is basically the same amp that had #'s like these. and someone said it was possible that the LED was screwing up the voltages, that is also hooked up on the Left.
So just looking for some input. I checked what the temps were on the heatsinks by the Transistors and playing pretty loud over a couple of hours I was getting 84 deg F. The room temp was about 60F so they seem to be dealing with the added voltage ok. Anyone tell me what you think it would greatly appreciated. THANKS SWANNY |
