I am currently in contact with a Chinese amplifier company. They make 'copy brand audio.' PM if you're interested in the details.
Anyways, they have many different types of Brand Name amps they copy, as well as in house amps. The prices are good. What specs should I look for when they list the amplifier power I need 1 amp that needs to go subsonic. The rest are LCRSrSr. I can't understand the specs listed and what they mean. What exactly should I know? What should I be wary of when buying pro power amps? Agreed
If we are speaking about DIY it's one thig. But if we are speaking about Company I am not so open minded. I wonder if the Forum rules are so elastic to keep such a thead open. But, I am the newbie,so I might be wrong on this. |

Yeah , maybe they can make us a "goldmund" real cheeep .
edit , you should be aware of the bloated ratings , 1500w PMPO = at best... a 3-500w amp , for example. ha ha cheaponsale.com - Chinese Suppliers, Manufacturers, Exporters,Factories,Products,Companies Directory , must be where walmart shops OS

He didn't even quote right the data. Just for giggles I have looked to the model and it has output power(stereo 8ohms) 525WX2 and stereo 4ohms 750WX2.
Anyway... our greed (as "developed" nations) in buying cheap is equal with their lack of respect for IP. There is chain reaction that lead partially to the world economy colapse that we see today. There is no blame to be pointed |

From within the culture, its quite the opposite of 'lack of respect'. Copying is a mark of respect, you 'give face' to someone by imitating them. Rather than lack of respect its better described as lack of fear of litigation.

I did hear once of a Chinese company (making industrial pumps?) which got a bit upset when one of their Chinese competitors started copying their design. They didn't seem to regard it as a sign of respect, just plain theft. I think they then began to realise why we have all this inconvenient IP legislation.

BTW, If I could buy the EP 2500 in China I would. Its made in Guangzhou, and not sold in China...
I am not sure if I will buy from them, but I want to know what to look for, buying used or from them. |

They also make OEM and have their own brand. They have recommended a brand name because it provides some sort of reference in terms of watts per channel and familiarity.
I won't buy new USA goods from a store China, because I think they are copies. So, I'd rather buy the copy directly from the factory. USA imported (or Germany for the behinger) is $500 for the EP 2500 at a legitimate authorized retailer(only 1 in China from the research I have done). At least 150% of the cost if not 200%. On top of that, in China buying overseas and shipping here is subject to a %27 tax on all goods(17 value added tax(take the value, and add 17 to EVERYTHING) and a 10/20% on electronic audio equipment.)) Additionally, I prefer buying the real stuff from a brand name. After living in China for 3 years, I know the real value of a brand name. It represents quality. The Chinese don't buy Chinese products and prefer USA/German prodcuts for a reason. However, when it comes to Amplifiers, I want to know what really is the difference and what should I look for? |
