Default Parasound HCA 2200 Mk II strange behaviour

I have a Parasound HCA2200 Mk II amplifier (2x385W @ 4 ohm).

Very nice amp that works as it should – apart from one (a bit annoying) problem when switching it on. The left channel gives no sound before I turn the volume up quite high. Then – when the channel has been “pushed into working” by this burst of signal, it works correctly, and I can adjust the volume up and down just as I want.

The other channel works normally.

As far as I can see, this has nothing to do with the startup delay circuits (softstart and mute), which seem to work correctly in both channels: the relays for both channels clicking in in the same sequence and within the same time.

Any clues of what can be the cause for this? All help appreciated.
Regards, Espen

I'm looking for one of these amps and am also interested in the outcome as I may have to deal with the same issue when I buy one.
