Are these 2 motorized Pots (ALPS) "compatible" electrically-wise?

Hi,

currently I have remote volume control kit in a diy preamp using an ALPS dual RK16812MG motorized pot, i.e. this one:

And now I want to upgrade this equipment with the ALPs "BLUE VELVET" RK27112MC motorized pot:

ALPS Potentiometer RK27112MC motorized 10K 50K 100K pot - eBay (item 260757360545 end time Apr-22-11 00:03:06 PDT)


My question is, Are these two pots "compatible" to use with the same DC power supply for their motors?

My question is because looking at the pinouts from the datasheet (see below), the RK16812 pot has 3 pins for the motor, i.e. "+", " - " and "COM", but the pot RK27112 (Blue Velvet) does not have the Pin "COM", just "+" and "-". So I want to make sure that I can use the same control circuit I already have (for the RK16812 pot) with the motorized Blue Velvet.

So, Can I use the Blue Velvet in place of the RK16812 pot (and just leave "COM" on the control PCB unconnected)? or do I need to modify the control circuit or connection scheme of the motor for this?
