Thought we could make a collection of 2SK1058/2SJ162 amplifiers.
They are nice transistors easy to drive.
----

I begin with one of my own. 20 Watt.
5 mA in VAS and we need no drivers for output pair.
----

Please submit links to all 2SK1058/2SJ162 amplifiers.

SIGMA Amp by Dr Bora

http://bas.elitesecurity.org/SIGMA-Schematic.pdf

Specification from Dr. Bora site:
> Power Output 130W RMS -------- / 8 ohms, 185W RMS / 4 ohm
> Music Power (IHF) - 180W RMS / 8 ohms, 220W RMS / 4 ohm
> Frequency range: 10Hz-105KHz ---- (for the fall of-3dB and the distortion below 0.005%)
0.004% THD at 100W RMS / 8 Ohm
0.008% at 130W RMS / 8 Ohm
0.009% at 170W RMS / 4 ohm
> TIM --------------------> 0.005% at 100W RMS / 8 ohms (50Hz/7KHz 4:1)
> References signal/sum ---> 100dB (compared to 100W RMS)
> Slew rate --------------->115V/uS
> Damping factor ----------> 450 at 100W RMS / 8 Ohm

Here is one single end 2SK1058/2SJ162 amplifier in Class A.
Uses one 24VDC supply and total of 6 transistors.

The performance is hifi quality. 0.001% THD at 1 Watt.
Max 7.6 Watt at less than 0.200% THD

Wahab - that photo caught my eye as being an example of nice neat construction for an amplifier.

Let's hope the factory in Japan is able to be repaired or you guys, with this thread, will start a stampede and the prices will go up !

Lol....
Not that pricey , only a single 220VA or so transformer,
4 beefey caps and 4 lateral fets pairs.

True that the casing and heatspreader will inflate the bill,
but this would be the case with whatever amplifier.

As i pointed it to a dude interested in building it,
there s some modifications that would be worthy :
Replacing the Fet based CCS with bipolar siblings
as well as reducing the cascodes s zeners current,
and also putting a cap in serial with the feedback
resistor that goes to ground, to suppress any DC offset..

Overall, it should yield a very good quality amp.

Btw, the Zenquito quoted by Lineup is from
the same author......
