Sometime back, I was so much annoyed that my DIY amp cannot be fitted with a remote control due to lack of knowledge(programming), cost, import, and so on.
Now I find so many remote kits that can be used for this with a little mod/as is. For example, on ebay, there is a 6ch 12 v kit that costs $6. This remote works with RF. For buying on ebay.in in INR, u have to use global easy buy option. One more I found that is good for Indians for practical reasons is at Sunrom Technologies since it is an Indian company, in India. Comes with one year warranty. Website: sunrom.com I already ordered one at Rs.1250/- and is going to use in my triamp for input selection and volume control. Any more ideas, please add so that the desperate for remote DIYers r benefited. Gajanan Phadte |

Better to make a 4 source preamp , Aux , PC , low level (mic/phono) , tv, etc.
Put your DAC in for the PC , compensated low level preamp (RIAA/mic) , switch all of this with a good PIC microprocessor controlled line level switching kit. Here's one for $33USD.... 6Way M62446 5.1 Volume Remote Control Preamplifier Kit - eBay (item 260706403227 end time Apr-09-11 21:21:36 PDT).. there are many others of unknown quality. The outputs can be the typical 2V line outs for your amp and a nice class A headphone amp can be added later. The power supply can be totally "anal" with CRC or CLC powering a salas shunt regulator or LM317 setup. Best to keep all this stuff away from the amp (different case) with it's ripple , magnetic fields , and high voltages. OS
