Hi all, I recently bought this power amp, and i really dont like the sound of it, so I was wondering if this was the original transformer... the rest of it seems to be fine.
Thanks! |

It is original. I have PM300 and it's the same.....Hard sounding amp, must admit.....
I use Carvers for touring. They rocks. I have some 30 of them. They are reliable and cool. But aren't good for hi-fi. Best regards Taj |

This amp is reliable and powerful for its weight and size and of course age. Dont dump it. Bad sound is mainly caused by those TL071,TL081....But replacing them can cause bad oscillations. My advice. Don't touch and it will work and serve to you for ages.
If you need any information about carver amps.....I have a lot of them and a lot of service documentation....If anything just ask.... Best regards Taj |
