ROTEL RA1070

Hi-f(r)iends !!!
I have a Rotel RA 1070 integrate amp for 5-6 years...
Maybe its time to upgrade???
Do someone have a sugestion or project that allready do this???

If you are satisfied with the sound it gives, keep it. 6 years is not a long time. Why fix it if it aint broke

RA-1070 is very similar to RA-985BX, but with extra user options (display, input settings, ...) . Preamp and power amp sections are probably 90% the same.

1070 and 985 are fantastic integrated amps to begin with, but you can upgrade them to be much better.

Stuff to do:

reduce global FB and increase local FB (input diff. degeneration, VAS degeneration)
remove unnecessary coupling caps (2 in series), leave only one cap at power amp input
upgrade all caps in power supply and local decoupling
......
