for the amps, a 24-0-24 ( or 48vct) transformer - 2 to 4 amps ( at least). 18-018 up to 24-0-24 would be ok. The 0 is for the center tap. lookup center tap transformers to learn more. I have this one for a chip amp - Chia Yu Co Ltd Input: 2 X 120Vac 50-60Hz 3" Dia X 1 1/2" Tall Output 42Vct 21V- 0 - 21V 80VA frm apexjr. miscellaneous.html teh 12v buffer tranny can be had anywere - wall wart, old cd player, even radio shack sells them. alos check jameco for stuff. good luck.
