hey guys i'm interasted about buying this amp from ebay 2PC TDA8920 BTL 2.0 Audio Amplifier AMP Kit 200W+200W - eBay (item 260708920904 end time Mar-16-11 01:10:07 PDT)
but there is not much information about it. i need your help to know if i can hook up 6 ohm speakers or only 8 ohm and do i get the 200watt rms at 8 ohm , have anyone used one of this amps, are they solid, isn't the heatisnk too small( will adding a cooling fen help ) , why there r 4 outputs while it says 2x200 watt and isnt too cheap for a 2x200watt amp(becouse i see other amps with less wattage aer the same price or more...) or even this one theres not much information too http://cgi.ebay.com/TDA7294-BTL-Speakers-Protected-KIT-Audio-Amp-150W-2-/260701348286?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb302 e1be |

the data sheet gives 10% THD at 140 watts into 8ohms
Mono bridge-tied load configuration output power RL = 4 W; THD = 10%; VP = ±17 V; 110 - Watt RL = 8 W; THD = 10%; VP = ±25 V; 140 - Watt I'd take the Ebay figures with a pinch of salt Heat sink is probably OK as this is a class D amp and presumably efficient. |

It won't be so cheap once you add a transformer and case.......
From the questions you are asking, you might be better with a 'finished' amp instead of a diy project? |

they recommend 20-0-20 AC 10 A that would be 400 watt, Transformers are rated in VA (Volt Amps) they are similar, an expert will explain the difference, however you will need a 20-0-20 VAC at 400 to 500va to drive this.
Don't forget the casing, power switch, fuses and fuse holders etc. |
