Thanks Bob, I am seeing 5 pair per channel, so 500mA sounds good.

100mA per pair is generally accepted as a good value for optimum sound quality, but in this case you are looking at 160V rail to rail so with 2 channels you will be dissipating 160W idling.
That is quite high for a PA amp. I'm not sure about the recomended bias for the Citronic but my c-audio mosfet amp has a quoted bias of 150mA This is probably quite enough to avoid any crossover distortion |

The schematic shows a total of 200v rail to rail (+100v to -100V), I've read elsewhere that these old citronic amps do run hot at idle, the cooloing fan will even cut in and out. Just got hold of this one and wanted to check that all was well before using it in anger!
