Default Legendary amp , looking for some pcb to clone build

Not try to infringe some property but : I am very intrigued by this McIntosh amplifier MC2KW .
Is someone on this forum that have the possibility to clone the original PCB of this amplifier ?
(I have try at the bank for an loan to buy something original from McIntosh like this but no luck , so i want to build one ...... need to say that my father is not a prince or a king to afford ... )

This should be done in a way of open project and only for diy purpose ...
So what are you say about ?

Replicating a PCB of one of the Power Modules (the schematic of which, I take it, you posted) won't help - you would also need an Output Module, including its very special output transformer. Replicating that would be, at the least, difficult as a DIY project.

It's to complicated for me.And I don't know for what purpose one would need so much power.Surtainly not for home listening. This is a concert amp.
This topology, op-amp input stage with additional VAS to boost the voltage is prone to ostillations and very high skill is needed to make it working.I read about this in a book and the author of that book had the opinion or experience not to build amps of such topology until you have enough skill.

I think the amp was created specifically to drive the XRT2K speakers.

I don't see the point of the output transformers in the mcintosh amps, if i was given such amp to keep or repair, those transformers would be the first thing i'd rip off of there.

Then I hope (for both you and your customer) that you will never get such job to do.

The idea of an transformer at an output of an bridged amplifier is awesome .
On the other hand also the VAS and pre-final attack are also good idea .
(I know : prone to oscillate , but what an engineered realization . )
So from here to try to realize an scaled down amplifier is only a step.

Default McIntosh Mc2KW

In the service manual, only one part of the channel is shown (+AMP), need to have another -AMP to run the system as advertised with 2 power module in bridge mode that makes it 2000w.

This is a great amplifier with .005 THD n never seen specs from any other high power stuff...'m crazy to have it in stereo to battle in phil audio contest at 4000w...

As Danzup say, "my father is not a prince or a king to afford", what more of a filipino, we are poor and have a very limited resources of parts..Where can i dig a "ThermaltraK" transistors? How to have a substitute for TR with only a Mchouse ID...and most of all, a mirrored autotransformer..

Where can I start? I have extracted the basic circuits of audio amp from manual eliminating the complicated logic circuits for fiber ops applications, logos, meter, turn on, cable check, etc..and finally made a design of PCB.

Have you considered Bryston power amplifiers? Their a different kind of company to the likes of McIntosh, less fancy marketing and more rugged workman-like powerhouses. Their philosophy is second to none.

DIY'ing any amp of these calibres will not be cheap, or easy.

Sorry I couldn't help

Default Heatsink PCB

Bryston is A-OK and I have also considered many brands but its nice to be going further and advanced where the circuit is unique despite of a limited sources. I have accepted many drawbacks and not being discouraged because there are people out there who still can help. Attach is part of my effort and hope somebody may have track on "thermaltrak" Transistor..image copper route may not be like the original..
