As a prevention, I am replacing all electrolytes in my NAD C370.
The question is: is it worth recapping the four C160 modules in the preamp section? It seems to be quite a hassle to get to the modules. Thanx |

Caps in small signal applications live for ages usually, I've seen 30 year old caps that were still fine (high voltage and/or current+heat is a different story).
Sure while you're at it you can recap them anyway, but keep in mind that desoldering caps out of double layer boards is a pain, only topped by the old cardboard based double layer boards (from 70ies) where the pads lift off in no time. Hannes

Thanx Hannes... Haven't looked inside the modules yet... They seem to be difficult to get to and I'd have to desolder them completly... Are you sure the PCB is double-sided?
