One fatal flaw with that circuit, theres no bias compensation so it'd only work in class B.

There is bias compensation - the predriver stage is a bit strange so it's easy to miss, but the BD139/140 devices are on the heatsink and provide thermal feedback. Bias adjustment is by a 100 ohm trimmer by the look of it.

There is nothing fatal in this amp friend, you just don't know to recognize the concept. Several hundred of Studio amps have been built successfully all over the world. I rarely accept to discus my designs in public, but I have to react on such statements.

Hi Dr Bora
It's an interesting choice of output stage. What inspired you to try that design ? If I am right the lower transistors work as cascodes? |

Jaycee, I respect you a lot and you know that, but as I said in my previous post, I really don’t like to discus my designs in public. I hope you will understand!?

I've been using one for three years now and i'm very happy with it. It met all my expectations. Very detailed, musicall amplifier with huge stage. Some pics...
