It could be many things such as a high value resistor in the feedback network around RT601. You need to check the reference voltage on the 5.6 volt Zener. Any of the small electrolytic caps could be suspect as well.

These are not an easy unit to work on and they are pretty unforgiving. Transistor types can prove quite critical, if its running at the speed or not switching cleanly then all sorts of issues can occur I'm afraid.
