kicker zr 360 problems

I have a kicker zr 360 amp. it used to work fine till one day it started acting up. The protect light goes on and off . my speakers will pulsate. And they make a wierd "whinning" sound. It will eventually cut off. I've been inside it and can't find anything noticably wrong . What do u think it is? pleases help!!!!! This used to be a great amp...

Hi,
By the way you ask your question it's obvious you do not have the
required electronics knowlege to repair yourself.I know this is boring but
I have to warn you of the danger to your life from working with high votages and it seems your's is a car amp? Even 12V at high current can pack a wallop.

If it's any consolation the amp has stopped working because a component
has failed resulting in a whining sound which I think is a class D amp
which uses switching circuitry much like a switchmode power supply you
encounter in a PC power supply and operating at high frequency.It is trying to
start up but because something in the circuit has failed it could not get up
to the operating frequency which is above the threshold of human hearing
and if you can hear it ,the frequency is below that.

Nowadays car amps are cheap so might as well retire it and thank it
for the good service it has given you from your heart.This is not sarcasm
but the recognition that all things are interconnected if it makes any sense to you. Regards.
