[Newbie]Building a dock station

Hi everybody, I'm new to the world of diy audio component, and I stumbled into your forum (which is really great, by the way) while searching for information to realize a little project: building my own dock station.

I already have a pair of Pioneer S-P330 speakers (60W peak, 8 Ohm), so all I need is an amplifier that is able to amplify the signal of my mp3 player (connected through a simple 3,5mm jack) to drive them.

I tought an IC would suit my needs, but then I discovered that there are way too many different models, and I am way too little experienced to be able to choose one. So here I am, looking for advices (I tried to read the wikis, but they seems to be a little "messy" at the moment). Thanks for any suggestion you may give me, and sorry if this isn't the right place to post such a question!

Hi,

look for the chipamp-section in this forum; particularly, keep an eye on lm3886 and friends.
