Default Luxman M120 distortion and squeal

I have a luxman m120 which produces a modest squeal from the left channel at idle. The same channel produces significantly distorted sound with signal. Fuses are all good, and i cant find anything that looks or smells cooked. The right channel works perfectly. Any suggestions?
