Im looking to remove the tone control circuit on a DH-101 or just bypass it, I want to cut down on the amount of unused wiring and since I only use the line in for cd's I'd like to keep it as simple as possible.

By default the tone control circuit is bypassed on the DH-101. That is the way I run mine. You have to push in the Tone button (to indicate white), to put the tone control circuit in service.

I have a DH-101 as well and I am trying to learn some electronics. It looks to me that it's tone control is bypassed by having a 10Meg resistor to discourage any current flowing into the tone control circuit, right? Did the original poster want to completely remove the tone control circuit?
Then, I think it means removing: R23, 24, 25, 28, 29, and 34. C15, 16, 17, 18 and 19. But I am just learning so take this with a grain of salt. But it looks like the Hafler DH-101 uses a James-Baxandall passive tone control circuit. Am I on the right track? |
