I have just repaired a PM66 SE, but now seem to have some very warm running regulator transistors in the PSU.

Q801/Q802 below are running very warm - uncomfortably warm I think.

I appreciate there is quite a voltage drop across them - but is it normal for them to run so hot? I realise this is a subjective question :)

The amp appears to be working perfectly by the way - and nothing else seems to be getting hot.

TIA

My experience of such regulators tells me this is completely normal. If you can fit some heatsinks to them (or improve the existing ones!) then do so.

To make it worse it looks like they have used an insulated device - so if there is any heatsink fitted to them, it isnt as effective.
