Anyone think this IC meant for driving LEDs has any hope of being used in an audio application?
CL2N3 It's temperature compensated and can be paralleled. Who knows what kind of noise it generates though.

Make it discrete: you'll know what's inside, and you won't be limited to 20mA or 90V.
And I don't think it will be more expensive: Improved current source/sink |

you aren't limited at 20mA. built a 280mA with 14 pcs CL2 yesterday to drive 1W LEDs and it works beautifully. not very expensive either and very simple.

Without knowing how the temperature compensation is constructed it is impossible to guess, there is only one way to find out and that is to listen..
My guess is that a discrete CCS is sonically better at more or less the same price.
