Do they make an output transistor that's higher wattage/amps than the
2SC5200? sam

You mean to parallel two 2sc5200s?
That's what I am trying not to do. There may not be one but it would be great to find one that is 250W,20A+. There's some mosfets with double dies that would work but trying to stay bipolar. sam

how do you intend to heat sink that? - multiple packages spread the heat for more thermal transfer efficently

Thanks everyone for the info on a better transistor than the 2sc5200.
The MJL4281A/MJL4302A looks like a good replacement for the 2SC5200 and 2SA1943. Would be nice if they came in an SOT227 package. This would help dissipate the heat better. Sam

If you want a bigger package, the Sanken MT200 transistors spring to mind.
