Who invented Diamond Buffer?

I remember some debates last year about Diamond Buffer, as if it is a state-of-the-art thingy designed by modern IC designers...

Today I've found an ancient Telefunken paper with schematic that contains a discrete opamp with Diamond buffer output:

I understand it was used by Radford in their Z series amps in the late sixties?

But it's such a basic building block I'd think it was around in the mid-fifties, surely?

Yes, it looks like it was in the sixties.
And by that time and in 70-ies amplifier started be symmetrical.

From the LH-0002 was introduced in 1968. From 1979 is AN-227 this denotes the applications of the LH-0002 and provides technical details of its operation.

Clearly, not before good complementary bjt were developed

There is a subtle problem - there is nothing like P-valve

Transformers are traditionally used to overcome the lack of Pdevices
But is there a transformer less way to implement the diamond buffer with tubes/valves.

If there is, then that may give a clue to the date of origin.

It could look something like this.

But it defeats the main advantage of the diamond, mainly taking care of the dc voltages easily and efficiently.
With tubes, you need voltage translations using capacitors or similar devices.

I doubt something like that has ever been used (4 tubes! enough to build a complete radio set)
