Lightbulb Sherwood S-7900A AM/FM Receiver

Some information please. My unit fuctions very well but I live in a valley so my reception is bad. The unit has two screw lugs for an FM dipole antenna and an attached AM antenna which folds out at 90 degrees from the back of the unit. I really need to improve both my FM and AM reception. What can I do.
