What amp for this toroid ??

Hy !

I have a 630 W toroidal transformer that gives out 32-0-32 V.

What amp can i build to get about 80 W in 8 ohm load ?

I built a Crescendo-ME amplifier with almost the same transformer (600VA 2*35V).
It´s the newest version of the original Crescendo design from Elektor. It includes protection circuitry.
If you go for that one I´d recommend the PCB´s from Elektor as you need 2 PCB´s (amp+protection) per channel and those are quite small.

But there many, many more amplifier circuits you could build with your trannie.

I built the CF OPS (Complementary Feedback Output Stage) Amplifier (figure 11-4, p337) from Randy Slone’s "High-Power Audio Amplifier Construction Manual". This is the ideal Voltage for this amp. I don't have mine working yet, but I have heard good things in this forum.
