Default A dumb question on amplifier power supply and output cap coupling

hi,

i'm in the midst of doing up my first solid state amp \

building nelson pass's delite now, and if i have a centre tap transformer that gives me rectified +75 and -75V, i've grounded the centre tap

would i need to connect the output coupling capacitor in reverse for the -75V channel?

or would the delite amp require a transformer with 2 separate windings of 0-75 rectified???

You should ask in Pass Labs forum.
Maybe even he will answer himself!

Doesn't the deLite require a single supply voltage? With your CT xformer you can get the +75 from two diodes I guess.

ah thanks! i tried getting +75 from two diodes and it all works perfectly now.

is there any use for the -75 line then? so essentially i'm using only half the transformer?

No you're using the transformer completely. Because of the two diodes, one diode is charging the cap on each mains half-cycle, they take turns.
If you feed two amps from the 75V you use as much transformer capacity as when you would feed one amp from the +75 and another amp from the -75.
Except that feeding one amp from a -75 would require rearranging the amp ground, and that's unnecessary.
