Default Musical Fidelity B1 MK1 Toroidal upgrade

Hi,

I have a Musical Fidelity B1 MK1 that I have:
  • Renewed the 4700uf caps
  • Replaced the TL072CP opamp with a 4562
  • Replaced the 50K Vol pot with new original one (no space to fit better one )
  • Replaced all 10 BC550C and BC 560C transistors
  • Replaced 2x BD139 and 2 x BD140
  • Replaced all 3055's with matched ones (now they all warm up together!)
QUESTION:
I have a 225VA Toriodal transformer I bought for another project that outputs +35V/0V and -35V/0V (4 wires). I measured the B1 existing transformers ouput voltage while connected to the board and it has 3 wires (+30V -30V an 0V) into the board. measure between +30v and -30v gives 60v as expected.

So my bigger transformer will have to be remote mounted (which is not ideal)

Will the extra 5v of the new supply cause any issues ?
Is it worth doing ?
Will it improve the sound ?

Am I right in thinking that it will allow a bigger current draw for transients and thereforeallow better overall control ?

I am not sure what a higher wattage transformer will achieve really ?

Many thanks for any help and advice in advance

Jonathan
