Hi guys,
Been browsing these pages recently and made decision to post my first cry for help ![]() I've been using an Adcom 545 amp since 1992 (and preamp) to power my Bose 401 speakers. Last weekend started to get a lot of distortion coming thru the right channel. At first I thought it was a blown speaker but after some experimentation I was able to rule that out and it looks like it's the right channel of the amp misbehaving. Firstly is anyone familiar with such a fault on these amps and is it an easy fix (bear in mind I am in the UK and we don't have Adcom representation here). Secondly even though I love my Adcom I'm starting to think about replacing the amp with something else. I need a two channel amp with 50 watts rms minimum (don't mind getting a more powerful one but price may become a factor). What other amps can anyone recommend pls? No silly suggestions as money is a factor here but I'd like something of same quality of slightly better than my Adcom. Thanks. |

Follow this thread to request schematics for your amp to attempt a repair:
