(Cool there´s still input in this thread)
Well, I´m still using my old Marantz amplifier to switch the sources and use the tape out for my main amp.
But one day I want that Marantz to vanish in some crate (or ebay?)
What about good quality opamps used as buffers or directly a buffer like BUF634, EL2001?
Couldn´t you just give or take away the operating voltage of those to make them switch the selected audio source?

Thinking about the cost of a acceptable solution to this I might become a cable plugger likewise.
I´m interested though how you do this ?
You climb behind your hifi-rack everytime?
That´s a kinda sporty hifi-session.:)

Jason,

I would suggest only one pot at the output. Nelson usually suggests 5K value, but you might go even lower. On my DAC I'm using 500ohm and it works fine.

joensd,

I'm using Target stand and the access is very easy. Also I'm not doing this more often than once a week or so. And I'm switching only the digital cables on my DAC, when I'm burnig CDs.;)
