Default Carver HR 875 pre-out bass distortion

HI,

I have been using this for 2 years and noticed that the bass output is distorting badly at anything above normal listening levels.
Ruled-out cables and all other devices..
I hate to throw this away it had nice sound otherwise!
Anatech help?

paul
