I checked the specs and to the best of my limited semiconductor knowledge, they appear to be close to identical. So why the huge difference in cost?
Id like to use a $3 part vs. an $8 part if performance is equal. Am I missing something or are the Vishays of much higher quality, limited production or...... irfp150 amt |

IR sold the product line to Vishay a couple years ago. You can use the IRFP150PBF @ $2.43/10 pieces. The $8 parts are the old style leaded parts, limited production therefore more expensive. Note that Mouser only has one IR part left.

Thanks for the info. One thing though, the IR are the older parts I believe and the Vishay the newer so they must be selling the old part cheaper and the new one is now almost 3X.
And I dont understand the RoHS requirement. The new part isnt compliant but the older one gets a waiver? amt |
