The left and right clip lights are telling you that there's a fault with the amp section; they are driven by the amplifier error level exceeding a threshold. The VU bar graph is independent of the clip lights, the VU meter comes from the mixer section and the clip lights from the amp section.
So you need to have a probe around there to find out a bit more. Try not to drive the amp until the fault has been fixed, you may inadvertently trigger the output crowbars and then there'll be a big bang and suddenly you made the repair rather more expensive. If the L& R amp modules are ok (ie no faulty components found in cold checks) then check by substitution the 8-pin op amps on the power supply / pre driver board. They sometimes fail to give this fault. I assume you've done the obvious things first like check the DC bus fuses. |

hi there thanks for the reply, i have checked the fuses and they are ok, when i disconnect the amps via the ribbon plugs the warning lights go off, i have tried connecting them back up 1 at a time and when i do it brings on the red leds for that side, at the min i am powering it using a external amp connected through the line out and it workes fine giving me the impression something has failed on the studiomaster amps
