I have a nu-vista m3 integrated amp and when i jiggle the source selector I get a crackling sound and some times the left channel cuts out.Sometimes I get this crackling and have to wiggle the knob to get it to go away.I seam to only get it when theres music playing. If I stop the cd and wiggle the know I get nothing.Any ideals on how to fix this guys.

That's arcing or harmonics caused by the sudden signal changes when the Contacts are making and breaking, popping inrush etc...
You need to replace the contacts or clean them and cover them with *electrical* contact grease. EDIT: I don't know what the device is your using I'm only commenting on what I've experienced that matches your symptoms, ie bad switch contacts. Last edited by _-_-_Adam; 29th April 2010 at 12:57 PM. |

Switch cleaner is the answer. Or possibly a bad solder joint somewhere near the switch.
