Hey all,
I bought this chassis from someone that had literally blew up his KSA-300S. I bought the chassis and power supply off him a few years back and planned putting a pair of KSA-50 amps setup into it to biamp my Maggies...The toroid in the pic is a 1250VA with dual 27V-0 secondaries I am planning to use... Anyway, a while back I sandblasted the sinks, faceplate and handles as they were quite scratched and beat up. This week I finally got to Anodizing the sandblasted parts and have to say I am impressed. The finish is black matte and has a nice velvet look to it. The top, back and bottom were left as is. Anyway, pics are here... the entire chassis needs a cleaning...The toroid in the pic is a 1250VA with dual 27V-0 secondaries I am planning to use... ![]() ![]() ![]()

The case looks pretty good.
The lower-left cap in the first pic looks blown to me. If it is, I wouldn't use any of them as they could all be damaged. You'll want to test the transformer first with a lightbulb tester to make sure it wasn't damaged also.

The transformer is not the original... it is new, non Krell (Toroid Brand)Transformer. The Power supply board with caps is the original (I believe). That crimp in the cap top was from me moving some stuff stacked on top of it. Its actually a thin plastic sheet-cover that covers the top of the cap. It should be good. It will be tested without an amp connected with a variac sometime soon.

Okay, don't mind me then. I should have realized a Krell transformer would have been an encased toroid. Carry on!
