Of course I know this is going to be substantially over the clueless part of my brain that handles electronics processing but somebody might have an answer for my tech pal.
He's got my LV-117 (a recent acquisition) and the service manual and reports to me that 'there is a 128v ripple in the power supply' that he can't figure out. If anybody cares to posit some postulations on this power supply problem (good alliteration eh?!) I (and he) would like to hear them! Thanks guys!

The service manual is 16.5mb. There'll be a slight delay while I attempt to find "the diagram" - but I can send you the whole manual if you like. :-)))
