500W PA amplifier with Limiter

hi , what is price of mjl ? and where to get in india ? i test with +-90 v dc b500 works good but heat more coming.

I bought them from mouser.in online store @RS--500/ pair.i also test with +-82v dc 2channel with 2nos dual 15inch top (500w rms each speaker)with full volume in whole day...With big heatsink and 4inch cooling fan..Result is aswame...Mainly bass note it's punchy.

Hi,Mr mile...I have 2 questions 1)can b500 handle 60 0 60 v ac with 4 ohms load with 5 pair mjl3281/mjl1302.??
2)is their any replacements of driver or other components for this voltage??

Crest Audio used 7 pair 2SC5200/2SA1943 with +/-85V in FA1201/2401. The driver was one more pair 2SC5200/2SA1943. Triple darlington would better to use for such high power amplifier.

Thanks for answering sir.
7 pair 2SC5200/2SA1943 at 85v = 1A×7=7ampere.(2sc5200 at 85 v SOA 1A for music) But 5 pair mjl3281/1302 at 85=2A×5=10ampere.
So,i think 5 pair mjls are more powerful then 7 pair Toshiba ..Is it correct sir??
Can I replace my driver mje15032/33 to 2sc5200/1943 without charging anything??

the Toshiba 1943/5200 are rated @ 150W @ 25degrees C at up to ~44Vce, the ONsemi 3281/1302 are rated @ 200W @ 25degrees C at up to 4A @ 45Vce
To see this more clearly you really need to use a plot of temperature de-rated SOAR vs load power and the Toshiba shows much lower capability. This becomes especially significant at the higher voltages, above 55Vce

I use a very simple guide for determining the maximum reliable power output:
Pout = total output device Pmax / De-rating Factor.
For mosFETs DF = ~4, For BJTs DF 5 to 6,
ONsemi work with DF=5 and Toshiba work with DF=6

5 pair mjls =10*200=2000
Now 2000/5=400watts.
4pair Toshiba=8*150=1200
Now 1200/6=200watts.

that shows that 8pair of Toshiba roughly match 5pair of Onsemi.
In your previous post you compared 7pr to 5pr
7 pair 2SC5200/2SA1943 at 85v = 1A×7=7ampere.(2sc5200 at 85 v SOA 1A for music) But 5 pair mjl3281/1302 at 85=2A×5=10ampere.

Have you tried comparing current capability @ 100ms & 60Vce?
Worth having a good look at the two datasheets for the higher Vce SOA limits.

Rough work... :D:D:D
