Sure, people come first but DIY audio doesn't exclude all other activities.
Why should DIY audio be less attractive or fulfilling than reading or any other 'entertainment'. To think of something, an idea, visualise it, work out the funtionality and then turn that idea into something tangible is an extremely rewarding and as far a I know uniquely human pursuit
