Default NAD 160a Problems

Yes I'm back again ! This time got a problem with one of my latest acquisitions....

I have cleaned all the controls / switches, checked DC offset : Right 4v Left -61mv

Now, it sounded superb at first but after about 30 minutes there were popping noises coming out of the left speaker that would last for about 30 seconds and then disappear for another 30 mins before returning....That has now stopped - it doesn't pop at all but the bass has vanished on both channels ! I have to turn loudness on & turn the bass control to maximum to get any bass at all....

Took a peek inside & all the caps look fine apart from one of the 80000uf power supply caps which has an indent in it (looks like its been crushed) so I swapped this for a spare 10000uf cap I had but still the same....

I also found a dodgy looking resistor in the power supply - Could this be a cause ?

The schematic for the receiver is nigh on impossible to find so I'm at a loss what to do.

Any ideas ? Thanks

Well, I've just ordered a replacement resistor & enough caps to fully recap it.....Fingers crossed that sorts it out
