My first amplifier, need help to choose schematic

My ambition is to make a small power amplifier 10-20 watt.
It should be an A/B construction.

I have searched a lot on the internett and found a lot of schematics, but I not know what to look for, how a smart design looks like.
So to not start on a bad project I come to you for advice.

I would like to start on a project (schematic) which has been done before with great success.

My knowledge: I am study natural science and have had subjects as measurment and instrumentation. When that have been said my knowledge if electronics is low.
I have a opportunity to make PCB at my university.electronicsart

I will also need help to pick out parts as Toroidal transformers, Rectifiers, Capacitors etc...

go for a DX amplifier ...low cost excellent quality easy to built and loads of support

it is an amplifier that is been here the foroum for quite long and only good things heard about it

I can't say I really understand the schematic, but I will try to simulate it in PSpice.
