I just purchased a vintage Technics SA-303 receiver. When I hooked up the speakers, I am only able to get the right channel. I turn the balance control to the left and hear only a faint sound. With the speakers hooked up I only get the right LED's, however, when I disconnect the left speaker and try it, I get both LED's. This happens in remote mode as well. I then tried the headphones and everything works perfectly. Any thoughts? Why would hooking up a speaker affect the LED's?

Open emitter resistors or output transistors. It sounds like it is just running off the driver transistors, but a schematic would be helpful.

RJM1, thank you for your reply. I have a schematic that I just purchased for this receiver. What should I be looking for?
