Problems with Nikko Alpha II Power amp (protection cuts off)

Hi!

I have an old Nikko Alpha II power amp which protection cuts off after about 1 minute..Then I turn it off and wait for 10 minutes and try again, and the same thing happens, only this time it happens after 30 seconds..And so on.. The amp acts normal until it cuts off, and all the speaker outputs work fine..

What can it be?

This must be this power amp:

either you have DC at the output after a minute and thus protection cuts off, or some faulty electrolytic caps arround the protection circuit itself - maybe Toshiba's TA7317 -

are the cause.

All electrolytic caps - at least arround so called "hot spots" on the PCB - must be replace. Rifa, FTcap and EPCOS are good brands for replace, even by the small size devices.

I'm delivering the amp to a local AV-technician, so that he can find out exactly which component(s) that causes the problem. I'm hoping it's no big deal, but we'll see
