Turner A300 Stereo Power Amplifier
Hi.
Anyone come across this amp? 2x TO-3 outputs per channel, marked "T TURNER 1521 Power Transistor" (probably 2N1521 - Germanium !!) Andy .

I have an A500 here with one channel down. 4 1521s per side giving 190 watts a side. It's going cheap for spares if you're interested.

Turner Studio Power amplifiers were built in London up untill about 1986 ish each one was hand built using good quality components and to a high standard.
Mike Turner was the guy who owned it and he was around in the 70's and 80's building power amps and speakers for the likes of Jeff Beck, Queen etc. The output stage is not germanium and i have spare devices if required, and most other parts. Mike Turner is a good friend of mine and although now retired he has given me much of the original parts as i regularly service or repair many Turners, most parts are still available and if you need any info please fell free to contact me. I will also purchase faulty one's to renovate and return to working order. Hope this helps Darren |
