Default Yamaha 2010 - no sound

I just picked up a Yamaha 2010 amp that powers up but will not put out any sound. Checked all fuses and circuits, all are fine. Switched speaker outputs, nothing. Any clues as to what the problem might be?

is there an input signal level indicator?

Next step involves lethal voltages. What tools do you have (scope, DVM, generators, loads)

If it's totally DOA then there's probably burnt bits inside. Can you post pics?

at this age its is almost a fact that this amp will need an extremelly good cleaning regarding pots and switches

beyond that, dirty trimmers and all electrolytic capacitors will need to be replaced ( against some peoples opinion this is also a fact )

after that and while replacing the above you will be able to :
repair any other damages that exist
upgrade some parts any way

here is a usefull link

Hi Sakis, thanks for your post. Very helpful. I've cleaned all switches but am not sure how to clean the ALPs pots as they are completely sealed. There does not appear to be any visually burnt components, but I am wondering if the speaker relays might be corroded and stuck. Apparently there was some distortion on the left channel, until the volume was turned up, then it cleared. The system has sat dormant for five years, now no sound. The next step might be taking it to a qualified tech with real testing capabilities. I still hope it may be something simple and within my capabilities.

99% chance that the caps in the relay circuit are dried out.

Replace them.
