Low-medium power transistors wanted

Hi, I am looking for Vce >= 140 V, a relatively high gain > 250 for currents up to 100mA (or thereabouts), and if gain could be flat for the range so much the better.

2SA1837/2SC4793 should do it well....your current gain expectancy is somewhat
too high, unless you buy a big number and make a selection...
the bjts i named are rated 100 to 320 gainn at 100 mA..VCE is 230V..

Ah, forgot to say I am looking for something better than the MJE15030. In other words better than hfe=150 up to 1A.

I don't think you can get better than 150 @ 1A.
Even the MJEs cannot achieve that, no where near it.
You might get 80 to 90 at 1A if you select carefully, but it's going to take a lot of downloading of datasheets to find the few that can match 80 to 90.
250 @ 1A is impossible as far as I know.

Ok so it seems MJE15030 is the best choice where high voltages ( > 120V and < 160V ) are concerned.

no, there are some that I have seen that claim ~90 gain @ ~1A.
I have never seen any yet that claim (guarantee) >=100 @ 1.1A.
