right channel sounds muted but still plays......any ideas where to start?? also, any way to tweak the old girl while im in there for a few more ponies??......thanks and great forum....

As for upgrade... the one thing I'd seen done was to replace the stock transformer with a pair of 500VA (or bigger) stacked toroids, to convert it to dual mono. That might raise the 4 Ohm power a bit, but it's still not going to give you too much more. The main benefit would be the extra channel separation at LF and high power. On the other hand, most off-the-shelf toroids are not potted, so you'll probably gain some mechanical noise by going from the stock transformer to a non-potted aftermarket. |
