Default preamp that always have same output if input is not always same

i have problems with jukebox in a cafe .. some songs are louder and some are quieter ... i m trying to build preamp that will have automatic control of output volume so that output will always be same(or close as possible)....i searched a lot and i cant find anything.
does anybody knows something please help

tonitonitoni,

I can't see how you could to it automatically. How can you determine dynamically if a section of music is soft or that the whole song has been recorded at a low level. It will be interesting to find out if it is possible.

I think you need to fix the source material assuming it is digital and accessible. Some music servers have volume compensation but I don't think it is automatic.

A simple compressor in line with the preamp output will fix that.

Lots of schematics on the net.
