I have a commercial ATI amp that can accept a 3V - 24V remote trigger through a 1/4" plug. I have no components that have an out trigger to power the amp on and off. I would like to make a simple switch that would allow me to do this.
My understanding of they way a amp power trigger works is that when a DC voltage is applied (eg 3v) the amp cycles on and when the voltage is removed the amp cycles off. Is this correct? If so i was wondering if i could take a 3V wall wort, connect a switch in series with its dc line and run the line into the amps trigger receptacle. When the switch is on a voltage would be applied causing the amp to cycle on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Neil |

To remain on does the amp require a steady 12V current or a blip?
Amp is ATI |
